Rutgers: The State University of New Jersey

The School of Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS) offers three major programs to juniors and seniors jointly enrolled at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences and, the School of Arts and Sciences: communication, journalism and media studies, and information technology and informatics.

SCILS admission procedures are separate from the one through which students apply to the university. To be admitted to SCILS, students must satisfy a set of eligibility requirements consisting of SCILS core courses, recommended courses, a credit requirement, and a writing requirement.
