Rutgers: The State University of New Jersey

My Name Is Angela
One Word That Describes Rutgers
One Cool Thing I work with an autistic boy named PJ. It is truly amazing how the innocence of a child with a disability can teach you about the importance of enjoying the life that you are given, as he does.
Home State New Jersey
Campus Rutgers-Camden
College Camden College of Arts and Sciences
Majors Psychology (masters)
Grad Date May 2008
Post-Graduation Plans Post Graduation: PhD Clinical (Child) Psychology. I intend to work with children who have been through traumatic events (abuse, neglect, poverty, illness, loss of parent, etc.). During my PhD program and throughout my career, I hope to work with children overseas who need psychological help and treatment, particularly in areas which have seen poverty and devastation.
Academic Honors

Graduated with Honors May 2006; Athaeneum Honor Society; Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society; Psi Beta National Psychology Honor Society; Dean's List and Honor Roll.

Special Academic Projects Research Assistant in Children's Memory Lab with Dr. Karen Thierry; Science Preparation Alliance Between Rutger and Camden (SPARC).
Rutgers Reflects the World Rutgers reflects the world through each of its students. Each one of us is different and comes from a different background, contributing our individual experiences and personalities to the campus. In my opinion, Rutgers is a reflection of my world because I have always had ambitions, yet this is where all of my ambitions have the opportunity to become reality for me, as long as I keep focus.
Rutgers Experiences The opportunities which begin here are endless. The faculty and students here are connected to anything you can imagine, all you have to do is explore a little bit.
Why Rutgers I chose Rutgers-Camden because it is an urban school which is close to home. The faculty in the Psychology Department is nationally recognized and each member contributes something different. Also, the university is really diverse, yet everyone seems to feel like they belong here, regardless of differences. Basically, the school just fit me.

I listen to all kinds of music, but my favorite to listen to in the car is any music with a strong beat that can make you dance and take your mind off of the other people on the road.

I don’t really read many books, however I am always reading Time magazine from front to back to catch up on the world. I will admit, I do also read those trash magazines at the grocery store. It is so funny to me that celebrities live in such a bubble and I am shamefully interested in all of the ridiculous details.
