 |
 |
| One Cool Thing | When
I get my Ph.D., I
plan on becoming an eating
disorders therapist. |
| Home State |
New Jersey |
| Campus |
Rutgers-Newark |
| College |
Newark College of Arts and Sciences |
| Major |
Psychology with Elementary Education Concentration |
| Grad Date |
Spring 2007 |
| Post-Graduation Plans |
I want my Ph.D. eventually, but I have no idea where
I’m going to go for grad school yet. |
| Academic Honors |
I'm carrying a 3.8 GPA in my major. |
| Special Academic Projects |
My
research is with Professor Gilchrist in the field
of perception. Gilchrist is known around the world
in this field. Basically we do various studies
to understand how the eye sees shades of gray from
black to white. Even though it's not really
the area of psychology that I'm interested in for
my future career, it will look awesome on my resume
to say that I've done psychological research with
such a famous professor. |
| Rutgers Reflects the World |
I love the diversity! It’s an amazing thing when your best friends are nothing like you, and yet they are so similar. The more people are different, the more we are the same. Rutgers helps you realize just how important it is to embrace and learn from the differences that could easily keep us apart but should actually bring us closer together. |
| Rutgers Experiences |
Too many to name. All I can say is that I love this school and some of the greatest experiences I’ve had have been on this campus. I learn so much outside of the classroom just by coming here that it’s amazing. |
| Internships |
I’m hoping to get an internship working in the psych field soon, but right now my “internship” is just doing research in my professor’s lab. |
| Rutgers Traditions |
DEFINITELY
De-Stress Fest! Every semester during finals,
Rutgers holds De-Stress
Fest, which is basically a whole bunch of activities,
events, and programs that help students relax.
They have professional massages, midnight pancake breakfasts,
yoga, you name it. Almost makes you look forward
to finals…almost. |
| Volunteer Experiences |
I volunteer at an after-school
program in Newark that is open to students who are
infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. |

| Why Rutgers? |
I started looking at Jersey schools because of the
in-state tuition. Rutgers was my number one
choice because of all the opportunities it offered
me. I like going to an AAU school. I like
when I tell people that I go to Rutgers and their
immediate response is, “Wow. That’s
a hard school.” |
