My Name Is Maria
One Word That Describes Rutgers
One Cool Thing I've been singing for 13 years and I also sing with the RU Choir. I just started this year and I absolutely love sharing my interest with other students and alumni. We also have a tour every other year. Our next tour will be in Wales!
Home State New Jersey
Campus Rutgers-Newark
College Newark College of Arts and Sciences
Major Psychology
Grad Date Spring 2008
Post-Graduation Plans Law school
Academic Honors Dean's List
Special Academic Projects Next semester I will be doing fieldwork within psychology. I am looking forward to it extremely because hands-on experience is something that I think is one of Rutgers' best attributes.
Rutgers
Reflects the World
I love the diversity here at Rutgers. I am a first generation Italian American and also the first person to go to college in my immediate family. However, the high school I went to was prominently Caucasian and I felt that it was not realistic of what the real world is actually like. Rutgers, in my opinion, is a little bit of the real world right here.
Rutgers Experiences I was nervous about meeting my roommates because I did not know them, but it turned out to be a great experience. They both are two of my good friends!
Rutgers Traditions De-Stress Fest....free massages, free stress balls...lots of stuff and it's free....who wouldn't love it?! (Minus the fact that it occurs right before finals, but take that part out and it's G-R-E-A-T!!!)
Volunteer Experiences NJ Community Water Watch, church choir director, church choir cantor
Clubs and Extracurricular Activities Secretary of the Jewish Student
Organization & Choir
Why Rutgers The diversity. It took me out of a small, mostly Caucasian town and gave me a little bit of what the real world would be like. The cost. Rutgers was the cheapest school I applied to even after scholarship money. The reputation. Going to an AAU school would hold a good deal of weight as I am applying to law schools.

Honestly, my choir music, which is a bunch of Christmas music. A lot of ballads, some rap, the list can go on...basically I listen to a little bit of everything.

I just finished reading Lucky, by Alice Sebold. The beginning is emotionally difficult to read, but the entire book overall was excellent. I also am starting to read The Client, by John Grisham.
