| Rutgers Reflects the World |
We have everything from the Rutgers Hillel to the Hindu Student Council, and everything from the Turkish Students Association to the Haitian Association at Rutgers University. As a Rutgers student, you become friends with all kinds of people and are exposed to new experiences everyday, whether it's Islam Awareness Week or a Taiwanese Night Market set up on College Ave one day, you are always learning! But Rutgers students don't just reflect the world, we care about it too! |
| Rutgers Experiences |
Seeing the 14th Dalai Lama speak, going to see Paul Rusesabagina speak (the man whose true story is told in the film, Hotel Rwanda), meeting the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine (she gave me some great advice on breaking into the biz!) On a more day to day basis, writing for the Daily Targum is not only fun but a great learning experience. It's awesome to be a first-hand witness and participatet in the work that it takes for an issue to be published everyday. |

| Why Rutgers? |
My sister and two of my cousins went to Rutgers and were not only happy here but are all successful in what they do now. Even though I was apprehensive before I got here, I can't imagine being anywhere else now. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but the options I had opened me up to a field I would have never considered otherwise, while at the same time allowing me to continue pursuing a major in Journalism, something I have always loved. As a Rutgers student, I have access to an art museum, an astronomy tower, botanical gardens, state of the art labs, a bowling alley, a farm, theaters, an ecological preserve, a golf course and much more without even leaving campus! Also, I am a huge dork and I love the history behind the University. I think it's so cool that we are one of only nine colleges nationwide that pre-date the founding of the country. |
