| Rutgers Reflects the World |
I'm Filipino. Coming from a diverse environment I was able to connect with the diverse population on campus, making friends from Haiti, Nigeria, and with other West Indians. There are different culture nights throughout the year and I dance for the Organization of African Students. |
| Rutgers Experiences |
I've taken various trips with the Office of Housing and Residence Life for workshops at different Universities like Penn State, Ohio State, and University of Delaware. |
| Internships |
I worked as a conference assistant at the 6-week summer Minority Medical Education Program (MMEP) at University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey (UMDNJ), where I met Pre-Med students from all over the country. I also worked as an OWL, which is an Orientation Workshop Leader. We help facilitate testing, registration, and orientation. And through Rutgers, I was able to get a job working for Newark Public Schools. |
| Rutgers Traditions |
Every fall we have a basketball showcase called Raider Madness where each residence hall and commuters compete in basketball tournament and it is a pep rally for the Basketball Season. For Homecoming we have Mr. and Ms. Rutgers-Newark, and every spring we have an event sponsored by Housing called Thunderdome, which is a competition between floors and buildings. |
