UPDATE: I am presently continuing school in the 5-year, dual-degree B.A./ M.S. program at Rutgers-Camden. I applied to medical school this past summer and hopefully I will become part of a joint M.D./Ph.D program.
I am also the national premedical trustee-at-large of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA). I oversee the association's budget and coordinate programming for its 7,500 premedical members. Currently I am not studying abroad, but I plan to do so as part of my medical school education. |
| Academic Honors |
Recipient of Dean’s Undergraduate Research Grant, Dean’s Undergraduate Travel Award, Dean’s List. |
| Special Academic Projects |
I am working on stem cell research at Rutgers-Camden. I am trying to identify how a stem cell specific gene (K110) is being regulated in a leech. The regulation of the K110 gene is thought to be responsible for the formation of stem cells. |
| Rutgers Reflects the World |
I like to think of Rutgers as a melting pot of diversity; students from different backgrounds pursuing degrees in many different majors all onone small campus. |
| Rutgers Experiences |
TOO MANY TO BEGIN TO NAME! |
| Rutgers Traditions |
Winter semi-formals, FREE FOOD at almost all events! Fall Day and Spring Day. |
| Volunteer Experiences |
After completing an internship in Cooper Hospital’s ER, I continue to participate in clinical research in their emergency rooms. I also mentor middle school students at East Camden Middle School and Holy Name Middle School in inner-city Camden as a part of Science Preparation Alliance Between Rutger and Camden (SPARC). |
| Clubs and Extracurricular Activities |
American Medical Student Association (AMSA), Science Preparation Alliance between Rutgers and Camden (SPARC), Student Government, Volunteer at Cooper Hospital. |
| Why Rutgers? |
I chose Rutgers-Camden because of their small class sizes and their name. People all over the country know the Rutgers name; I’m at a small campus which is part of a huge system! The opportunities here are endless with growing masters and doctoral programs. |
