Overview


Here is an overview of the steps to completing an application for undergraduate admission for students who will hold an F-1 visa.
  1. All applicants for undergraduate admission use the same online application for all Rutgers schools and campuses.  Your application for admission is not complete until we have received all required items.
  2. All applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their complete application by the due dates.
  3. List your name exactly the same way it is listed on your legal documents on all applications, forms and paperwork. Your name must be the same as what is printed on your passport.
  4. Documents not in English must be accompanied by a translation on the professional letterhead of the translator.
  5. Regardless of US residency status, an English proficiency examination is required of all students whose secondary schooling has been outside of the US in a country where English is not the principal language.  Please refer to Required Test Scores for Rutgers English proficiency requirements.
  6. Students who will hold an F-1 student visa must provide proof they will they will be financially supported for the entire time they intend to be enrolled.  These students must therefore submit the International Student Financial Statement (ISFS)
  7. Application for admission are reviewed when they are complete. To minimize any delay in the issuance of your I-20 documents, international applicants are encourages to submit the ISFS and supporting financial documentations at the time of application or shortly thereafter.
