Pearson Test of English - Academic (PTE) Conditional Admission via the English Proficiency ProgramWhat is the Conditional Admission via the English Proficiency Program?
Conditional Admission via the English Proficiency Program is for applicants who have done well in their studies, but who still need to improve their English skills. Such students are referred to an English language program associated with one of our campuses in New Brunswick, Newark or Camden. The English program may take several months to complete depending on the student’s level of competency. Upon successful completion of the program, as evidenced by English proficiency test scores and upon the recommendation of the instructor, participants will update their original applications for admission and be admitted to at least one campus of Rutgers University. Students must supply proof of financial resources for their complete support during the duration of the program.
Who is Eligible?Applicants for this program must complete an Application for Undergraduate Admission that demonstrates academic success in their home country. The program is by invitation only.
BenefitsOnce students successfully complete the English program, they may pursue a Rutgers University degree. They do so while becoming acclimated to the Rutgers community, which assists students’ transition to a degree program.
