On Friday, I went with the Honors Student Organization, which is open to anyone, by the way, to the Ronald McDonald House in Camden. Not only was it a great time, but we managed to do something good for others. The Ronald McDonald House provides living arrangements for children who face a serious illness, and their families. So on Friday, I hopped into a Mustang, yeah really, with some HSO members, and headed over to the Ronald McDonald house where myself and around 14 others helped to make...TACOS! They were a big hit. Here's a video of HSO at work.
My voice sounds kind of funny on camera! I didn't shoot too much video because I wanted to help out. Anyway, the spread we set up can be seen at the beginning of the post. We got to eat the leftovers after feeding the kids and their families. HSO can cook! After dinner a traditional chocolate milk chugging contest ensued.

Overall, it was a really fun night and I hung out with some HSO kids after leaving the Ronald McDonald House. They ended up going into Philadelphia, but I was too tired. It's very cool being so close to the city! I can see the Ben Franklin Bridge outside my dorm window!
The HSO has some great things planned this semester including a trip to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair, maybe Six Flags Fright Fest, and another dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. I think the best activities we can take part in at life are those we enjoy while helping others, and this HSO trip accomplished that! I'm looking forward to more HSO events!
