It feels like ages since I last posted here, but it's only been a week. I've been so busy with a Pre-Med career center meeting, the English Students League, drawing comics for the Gleaner, trying to schedule training with the radio station, my first Biology exam and more. I even missed the Honors Student Organization's trip to the Renaissance Faire on Saturday because I needed to make time to study!
In this post I wanted to start to address the stigma about Rutgers Camden's location in, well, Camden. You really need to visit Rutgers Camden to realize that not only is it very secure, but it's a great place to live and learn. That sounds cheesy, but seriously, go to an Open House. We're starting to hold them and I know when I went to my Open House there was really great food. Until then, you can read this post about my new backyard.
Before moving into the Rutgers Camden Residence Halls, I lived in suburbia. My backyard was a small, fenced in area where I'd play the occasional badminton game. Recently, I discovered my new backyard behind the Residence Hall is much more than that. Not only does my new backyard play host to Rutgers Camden movie nights and Luaus, but it houses the Walt Whitman Arts Center.

Here's a sign to prove it.

Here's the front of the center.

Rutgers is here!

I've never sat on a bench there, just because I usually walk around the center for exercise, but it looks nice.

There are a lot of statues, but this goat is my favorite.
Not only is the center beautiful, but it serves a purpose! They hold comedy and musical acts, open mic nights, and show films, double features, that you can get into for $3 with a Rutgers ID. Check out their website for the event schedule: Walt Whitman Center.I have not been inside the center yet, but it's definitely my favorite place on campus to relax. I'm off to study Biology, have a nice week! I'm off to Biology, I hope my pictures do the center justice! It's so cool to have such a beautiful place to hang out right outside of the Residence Halls.
