Hello, can I have a weekend please?

This week was very long, and I'm so excited to go home. I had another exam and two papers do, it was horrible. Plus for some crazy reason I've decided to re-watch the first and second season of Gossip Girl, so I've been staying up until 3 in the morning. Now that classes are in full swing, I've been hit with a load of homework. For the most part I've been balancing everything really well.

I’m just going to say that it’s a little confusing when you’re taking three history courses, and they are all set in a different time period. I’m taking Development of Europe parts one and two, and the Development of America part one. I can’t keep track, I’m getting confused by the Boston Massacre and the French Revolution, it’s actually quite funny. The other day in class my European 2 teacher asked me what was a contribution to the cause of the French Revolution, and I said the Boston Massacre, whoops! I want to be an American and European Studies minor, so I have to take these classes. But for future reference, I know to try to take classes around the same time period. I love history, don’t get me wrong, it’s just a little difficult to learn out of order, it’s like watching the third season of a TV series before you see the first. Besides that, I really enjoy my history classes. My three professors and one teaching assistant are really nice, and my professor almost died of laughter when I said the Boston Massacre, so I think I’m good. I even went to a history fair, and met a lot of other professors and learned what you can do with a history major (law school, cough).

Getting around campus on crutches is not as bad as I thought, so if you ever are on crutches don’t worry too much. People on the bus are generally really nice and move to give you a seat upfront and people hold open doors, I was surprised. Now I don’t enjoy the crutches in my 500 person lecture hall, where I have to get into the middle of a row, but I can deal.

I got my first expos paper back, and can I say I’ve never been so happy to get a B before in my life. Generally a B would not warrant me to put my paper on the fridge, yes Kylie and I put our papers on the fridge, but this is different. I felt incredibly relived to get a B on my first paper, I was so afraid I wasn’t even gong to pass. It takes a lot of stress off of me for the next few papers. If you do your best work on your first paper, and really try, you’ll do fine and it will make the rest of the papers a lot easier.

Today I had a very long day, I took the 9:40 train from New Brunswick to Trenton, then from Trenton to Philadelphia, and then the SEPTA to the airport. From there I flew to Manchester, NH which is an hour and a half from my house in Lebanon. It was a long day but I’m back in New Hampsha for the weekend. I’m happy that I left from Philly though, because I now know how easy it is to get there. I’m excited and I’m going to plan a visit there for a day trip! I’m excited to be home for the weekend, but not too excited to do the load of homework I brought. It’s surprising I’ve only been gone from campus for a few hours and I already miss it. It’s the longest I’m going to be away from Kylie and my dorm, and I’m really going to miss it. I am really happy that I came home though, I really miss all of my friends here and I finally get to see them.

Oh, and don’t ask, I left the crutches in the dorm room, I don’t think i could have gotten to the airport with them! Oh and on Wednesday I walked out of Stonier to go get takeout at Brower, and there was a mattress race outside in the street. Yes the were actually racing mattresses, like hospital beds, I'm not really sure what was going on, but all I could hear in my dorm room was the air-horn. The best part about being home, I will finally get to sleep in my quite room, in my comfy bed.

You are being conditioned in a good way for life in general. We are made to work and make things awesome-licious and better, and this is a good thing - so pop on the John Tesh and start working!
