I nearly neglected to narrate a note (4 word alliteration record!) this week. I have been remarkably busy. One aspect of Rutgers Camden I love is that you can be as active on campus as you want to be. Some people particpate as much, if not more than me, and some people just go home after class. Either one is fine, heck, we have a lot of working students who go back and forth from school to worth and I have a great ammount of respect for them. Whatever makes you happy. Just know the options are there for you to enjoy a variety of experiences with Rutgers folks.
I know that if I put my last week in a big, bulky, paragraph you'll probably overlook it and skip to the pictures, so I'll compromise with a nice list. Heavy reading is for class and Ayn Rand.
Starting from my last post, about activities, not classes:
Thursday- Honors Advisory Board meeting. We get a bit closer to figuring out where we want to hold our Ethnic Dinner. I declared my majors as Biology and English. I guess we need to change my blog biography.
Friday- Missed Rotaract Club to go off campus for an appointment.
Saturday- Guess who was a speaker at the Open House? Me! I talked about student life and hopefully found some new readers for the blog. ALL READERS: feel free to comment with questions, comments, poetry, etc. I then hung out with my dad in Cherry Hill, home of many restaurants! It was a Baja Fresh day!
Sunday- Homework, visiting the lovely Rutgers Fitness Center, cleaning, etc. I find having an off day is important when you take on as much work as I do.
Monday- Monday is the one weekday that seems to be light on activities, which I don't mind because I have a class and lab. I hung out with friends and missed a Volleyball game to get ahead on homework. I asked for a press pass to a videogame expo, was granted said pass, and then realized the convention was too far away to go without a car. Still, I'm excited to have the opportunity to be part of "the press." It's one of the lovely things about going to a college with a great reputation.
Tuesday- Brought to us by the Career Center, Graduate Admissions Expert Donald Asher spoke about getting into Graduate School. Although, I did feel sad missing Art Students League and Honors Students Organization, he gave a really informative speech that I will keep with me come graduation. I'm actually considering picking up one of his books.
Wednesday- I wrote the Press Release for a NJPIRG healthcare discussion on campus next Tuesday. It was pretty school to write such an official piece that I then sent out to NBC, FOX, the Philadelphia Inquirer etc.
At night, it was time for the Fall Fest!!!

We had the decor.

And the food. Here's a bad picture of the food tent I'm posting just to prove it's wonderful existence. It yielded funnel cake, fries, soda and lemonade. Apple cider, hot cocoa, and more was elsewhere. Speaking of food, a food drive set up shop and with a donation the donor would receive Rutgers winter gear (scarf, gloves, probably other choices).

Activities included ice skating on an imported rink, carving pumpkins, face painting, and again, probably more! It's easy to miss things! I do know I heard fireworks from my dorm after I left. There was also a DJ.
Thursday- Back to today, almost tomorrow. A sick teacher cancelled his class, so I actually spent a lot of time hanging out with new friends today. I taught them the gym is free to Rutgers students. They're excited. Maybe in a few months they'll be carrying me to class!
Aside from some fun friend time, I went to the weekly Thursday English Student League Poetry Night. There was food, a published poet, the sharing of our own poetry, Dr. Habib, and the drafting of some quick, new poetry. I wrote about the Rutgers Camden cafeteria and got enough laughs to go back to my dorm happy.
We've reached the present, and I want to go to bed. I look forward to getting some good sleep this weekend, and waking up on Monday and starting another week in my busy Rutgers life.
You may not remember this, but in my post about green Rutgers I mentioned a Recycling Kickoff Party during which NJPIRG gave out bamboo. I figured you could watch it grow with me.

Dr. Doom is there so we have something/someone to measure the plant's growth against. Plus, Doom likes the new tropical feel to his place on my dresser. I left them both in their natural habitat so you could get a small glimpse of my messy room.
I hope hearing about my week wasn't as exhausting as living it. It's time for some sleep.
