Alright, so I got out of my Final Lab Practical for General Biology a couple of hours ago. It was pretty tough, but it was definitely easier than the practice practical. Oh, and I got a 16/20 on my lab report. I guess that's not that bad...but I wish I did better!
So today I have the Expos final to worry about. I'm actually not terrified. The story is only 14 pages this time around; it's called "Immune to Reality" by Daniel Gilbert. I know the other stories pretty well, so it's all a matter of making connections in between them all and being ready to do an old-school brain dump in about ten hours. You know, by this time last year I would be preparing for MIDTERMS. Finals just makes it a bit more scary. And when you add the fact that it's my first semester at college...well, OMG.
Interesting fact: Have you ever wondered why Muslim women wear scarves around their hair? According to their culture, any guy who is a potential husband is forbidden from seeing the hair. So I've got two Egyptian girls living upstairs who live by this same tradition. I went up like forty-five minutes ago to ask one of my friends about the expos story and guess what, one of the girls sees me and I see her. Scarfless (they're allowed to take it off around other women). SLAM - that was the door in my face within three seconds. I felt pretty bad...
But yeah, besides that horror story freak out. I've got my Bio final next Saturday and Death & Afterlife the Monday after (12/21). I really hope I do well and pass everything because I need at least 12 credits to be able to apply to be an RA - that's right boys and girls, I want to get to know you, text you about pointless meetings, open your doors when you get locked out, and bother you about doing even more pointless internet surveys. And the payoff? New friends, leadership experience, free housing, and free 150 meal plan (which isn't bad for me because I was on the 210, which is the lowest for freshmen, and I have 97 swipes left). I'm definitely supporting Operation Robin Hood (giving takeout swipes to the less fortunate). If only the Rutgers Dining Hall Services weren't trying to get in the way...
So, as you can imagine, I've got lots of stress, and not even just from finals. But I'm happy to say that I found peace in the arms of Dance. <3
On Tuesday afternoon, I was supposed to meet up with my girl Henna and session (practice dancing). So then I invited my buddy Derek from Verse|One and my friend Alfonse, who I met at this dance workshop in September on Douglass. Then I ended up inviting people from Team Technique, Rhythmology Dance Crew, Project D Dance Company, FR3SH Dance Company, FR3SH Juniors, FR3SH Freestyle, Boogiezone NJ, Verse|One, and RAPS Dance Troupe. What started off as a private session turned into a big, end of the semester dance extravaganza! So instead of cleaning my room, I reserved the Multipurpose Room of the Livingston Recreational Center for a good four hours.
After eating at Nielson (YUM) that day, I went to the LRC to hook up my laptop the speakers and let everything rip. The first person to show up was this guy Jose, a breaker that heard about the event (he doesn't go to Rutgers). Then came Derek. After that, Dan Duma from FR3SH showed up with his friend Wesley, then Alfonse and his friend Camilo. Shortly after Dan, Wesley, and Camilo had to jet, a whole bunch of people from RDT came along, and my friend Stan (he's also a b-boy). What happened that day can only be described as epic...but let the pictures and videos I took talk to you!

^ "FREEZE! RUPD!" ^

^ This is why you should ride the B bus more often at night. You might see things like this. ^

^ Oh, hey Stan. ^
^ Alfonse ^
^ Steve (RDT) ^
And the most epic video of them all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVB133xQ3lc
