On the first day of classes my Rutgers gave to me...Peanut Butter and Jelly!

Yep, the lady in the picture, Monique handed out free bagged lunches during free period today. The Finding Nemo gummy fish excited me the most. Tomorrow Rutgers Camden provides a welcome back brunch.
I have to say, my two "first days of school" at Rutgers Camden are much more benevolent than any I can remember. So far, all of the teachers I've had seem genuinely passionate about what they teach and teaching itself. I started the day with some 8 AM Biology 102. We're in the Science Lecture Hall this semester.

Luckily for me, Dr. Evans, the Biology 102 teacher, is a morning person and is animated enough to keep me awake and interested. We dissect fetal pigs this semester. I love animals, but I also love biology, so it will be a bitter sweet endeavor.
My next class was Critical Methods of English. I love English and I can be critical, so hopefully this is a perfect match. Critical Methods is a required class for all English Majors at Rutgers Camden, and the professor says it's a good "nuts and bolts" class. We'll see.

Next came free period. NJPIRG set up shop, as did a Haiti information table next to a Haiti donation table. Donors of $3 or more received a magnet. It was nice to see the school coming together towards a really good cause.

My last class of the day was Abnormal Psychology. This class was actually overfilled by a few people and there are 15-20 people waiting to get in. Such are the trials and tribulations of going to a small, but growing school. Next week we're watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and we will be looking a lot at abnormal psychology in the media. I have always wanted to read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, so I am excited.
Well, I have yet another 8 AM class tomorrow, Spanish. I should get to bed. I hope everyone is making a ceaseless transition back to school life. I'm going to leave you with a tip: if you can, always allow double the time to complete an assignment than you think you need. I just filled out a bunch of internship applications due Febuary 1 at the earliest and I'm coming across all sorts of problems, such as not having my AP credits on my transcript. Check your transcripts in advanced guys. This is a real pain.
On a more positive note, I have Creative Writing tomorrow.
Bye from Camden,

Jen
