A Blogger, a Photographer, and a Severed Head Named Quentin

by System Administrator 8. March 2010 11:42

I never realize just how weird the clutter in my suite is until I have visitors. Today, as David already mentioned, was a photo shoot for Rutgers University’s student bloggers. I am willing to go out on a limb and say before coming to my suite, the photographer never had to say the following phrase: “Okay, can we get the severed head out of the shot?”

I feel like I owe you a little bit of background info. My suitemates and I are in possession of a set of Halloween decorations, the aforementioned severed head (affectionately named “Quentin”) as well as a four foot tall evil clown who answers to the name of “Cecil.” They’re kind of our suite’s mascots, and I tend not to notice them (except when one or the other pops up in my bed or in my closet).

However, I digress. The point I wanted to make was that the photographers were really awesome people, and that the shoot went well. Thanks Nick, Jerry, and Amy. I don’t usually like being photographed, thanks for making what could have been a really awkward experience interesting and kind of fun.

Also, a good second point: if you’re going to have company over, clean first.

P.S. I am sorry to say that both Cecil and Quentin are absent from the photos that were taken today. However, when I have a chance, I will upload photos of them myself.

It's decapitated, John-- the correct spelling for the tag.  In any case, since decapitated means without a head (capa meaning head), the head is severed, and a body is decapitated.

And that's the weirdest conver about word usage I have ever had.

Thanks for that, John!

Oh, wow, my mistake! I should have put more thought into the tag.

And Cecil and Quentin have inspired a lot of interesting conversations.
