And...Break.

by System Administrator 14. March 2010 19:11

I figured I should get a blog post up before I get too into this break. I am staying on campus this break. The Fitness Center is open on the weekdays and the Dining Hall is open with limited hours. This last week was really busy, and I'm enjoying catching up on my sleep. In between all of the midterms and papers, there were some great activities, and some even had food.

Q-STEP met again, and the chair of the Computer Science department spoke about how to succeed in the sciences. During the prior meeting, my biology teacher gave a speech on the same topic. We get the inside scoop, and always close the door so the secrets don't leak out. Our logo contest is underway, and I entered a premise: f(Q-STEP) the limit does not exist. It's a calculus reference to the limit of a function.

GSA also met this week, and we are moving fast to keep up with this speedy semester. We're cosponsoring the annual Drag Show this April, and going to a LGBT festival in Rutgers Newark. On top of that, we're getting new members every meeting and everyone I've spoken to so far seems really cool. We even have great support from the administration. I am really excited about the group, and I'm not just saying that because I am vice president.

Another activity I am excited about is the Bring Your Professor to Lunch program. Basically, you invite a professor to eat lunch with you, catered for free by Rutgers! I'm hoping to eat lunch with the Biology Chair (our professors are really accessible). We have common interests, including the brain!

That's it for now, I think I'm going to upload some pig dissection pictures and a video and be on my way. If you do not like seeing dissected pigs, I suggest you stop reading now.

Happy break!

Above there are flags in the pig because it was part of a pig practical. We had to identify the flagged pig parts.

The end of pig stuff. Happy break!

Ew, pig dissection, reminds me of when I was in biology.  The bring your professor to lunch thing sounds really cool.  I agree it is great that the professors at Rutgers are so accessible.  I hope you are enjoying your spring break.
