And Spring Break '10 Comes to a Close

by Will T. 19. March 2010 22:49

As I sit here, on my couch watching Harry Potter enjoying life, I slowly realize that my first spring break in college has basically ended. I feel like all I have ever done on this blog is complain and then talk about how magical breaks are (and I'm not saying it's not true) but I feel as though it is time I realize that my life as a dancer will always be difficult so I should just make peace with it. And I am. Slowly.

But back to being on break. First off, the weather has been purely glorious almost every day this week (not counting the monsoon which rocked the entire state last weekend and which I wound up stranded in Newark with my friend with a FLAT TIRE after midnight after seeing a ballet at NJPAC...). But on the bright side (pun completely intended) the weather has caused a noticeable change in everyone's attitudes regarding life. I just cannot wait to see how all the students and faculty at Rutgers embrace their new, happier attitudes. One thing that is great about being on Cook/Douglass is that we have fields and wildlife to frolic in and around during the nicer weather, so I will definitely be doing that once the break is over!

Look forward to some posts in the future when I can write outside soaking up sunlight.

Some highlights of my Spring '10 break:

Drinking enough coffee to drown in, seeing "She's Out of my League" (GO SEE IT!!!), seeing the New Jersey Ballet Gala at NJPAC and then getting stuck in Newark during the monsoon, eating non-dining hall food, seeing old friends, eating at Cheeburger Cheeburger for the first time, hanging out in Princeton and playing in the University fountain, going shopping at Short Hills Mall with a best friend, running around in the sunshine, making new friends, making playlists on my ipod and then driving randomly listening to them, sleeping for more than 5 hours on a weekday, and countless more.
