So the past week has been a glorious weather phenomenon, which brightened the moods of not only myself but everyone else at Rutgers. The sun and heat really allowed most of us to take a break from stressing over impending finals. At least, I know that I definitely needed a break. For everyone's note, the Mason Gross Dance Department Student Choreography Concert was last weekend, and continues this coming weekend. Basically, performing thursday, friday, saturday, and sunday means I am going to be fatigued and worn-out. However, it is pretty awesome knowing that I am finally contributing to the department by performing instead of watching. So if anyone is interested in going I would suggest buying tickets at the ticket office in Bettenbender Plaza on Douglass campus, right by Hickman Hall, and seeing the show. It's pretty great.
Anyways, taking a break from stress, some friends and I decided to make use of the glorious weather on Wednesday and we trooped over to Vorhees Field, right behind Vorhees chapel, and settled down in the grass to relax. The great thing about college is that all the opportunities for you to have fun are available- and most opportunities are what you make out of them. So if you want to do something unconventional or simple, just do it! Wednesday was the perfect relaxation day due to my lack of classes between 2 and 6, so I fit in as much tanning and frisbee as I possibly could. Although, a word of warning to all persons planning on playing frisbee at Vorhees field: do NOT throw the frisbee over the wall, considering route 18 is right below. Luckily, our frisbee managed to avoid all cars and landed safely on the other side of the highway. Of course, we still had to go retrieve it by crossing the trechoruous road but college is about freedom (although I wouldn't recommend it).
Hopefully the weather continues to improve and Rutgers will continue being a mecca of friendly students and sunshine (probably not, but one can always hope)
