Hey all! Basically I just wanted to update everyone on what joys Rutgers offers during the summer considering I'm currently living in New Brunswick in my apartment and witnessing everyday New brunswick life in a new perspective. Living in a dorm gives you only a slight outlook on how the New Brunswick community actually functions, and if you ever decide to live off-campus you are going to have to understand the inner-workings of the city. First off, let me just say that Rutgers is never quiet and/or settled down. Sure there are less people running around the streets due to summer break; however, there are quite a number of students who are still living off-campus in the city and taking advantage of their housing rent. There are people who take summer classes, as well as people who are just chilling around the city just living life. I like to think of myself as the "chilling out whenever I'm not going crazy with my schedule" kind of person. One thing I noticed as very inconvenient is how the Rutgers summer bus system is never reliable and I have constantly found myself waking up early only to realize that my train to New York leaves in 30 minutes and the next bus is in 55 minutes. I swear, if I don't have a 6 minute mile time by the end of the summer I don't even know what I'll do with myself. Anyhow, this little bus problem also goes on into the later hours of the day/night when I arrive back in the city only to see that I could either a) wait 85 minutes for the bus at 10 o'clock at night, b) take a taxi, c) walk the 30 minute hike back to my house, or d) cry a little on the inside. Recently it's been a mixture of c and d. However, walking through downtown New brunswick is kind of never a good idea to do by yourself late at night so honestly that habit is going to have to change.
Okay, so in other news I only have 3 weeks of jetsetting to NYC everyday left (applause) and my body only throbs occasionally! That my friends is called success. In less fun news I recently discovered (after having a bout of tonsilitis) that I have to get my tonsils out in August. Which is lame. But on the bright side I can eat as much ice cream as I want and no one can judge me so I count that as a win. Yay!
Oh and I just realized that my title may not seem like it makes sense with all my rambling postings, but it's more of a quote to live by. That and the fact I love coffee.
