Faster and faster I should run, faster and faster from your arms...

Hey dudes and dudettes, I'm back for another blog, brought to you by the scorching weather that keeps me inside the house. The hell if I'm going outside...literally.

So I apologize for not consistently posting every week now - between work, summer class, outside reading, and other factors, I guess venting to prospective / current RU students / faculty, and other random people has kind of taken a backseat. But never fear, I'm in it to win it. (Bad time to use that phrase, I know.)

In other news, in addition to Victoria's Secret, I'm now back at Abercrombie & Fitch. Welcome to the world of buffalo clips, size stickers, house music and Fierce cologne. Oh baby. I'm still not allowed to roundhouse kick shoplifters though; smh.

So today, I decided to do a bit of cr33ping1 through the Rutgers 2014 discussion threads, and I can't help but see some of the same exact posts that I remember participating in when I was at this stage last year: Tell the group members about yourself, exchange contact information, wonder when the housing assignment and class schedule is coming through, add people who have the same interests as yourself, and go on and on about how much you can't wait to party.

Right when you click the email for your housing assignment, start a stopwatch. Trust me, within 10 seconds you will have looked up your roommate on Facebook (or freak out because you don't have one) and posted your info on the 2014 group's wall. Within the next 10 minutes you'll be in a group dedicated to your campus or dorm, or both. And then after that, you will be flooded with friend requests from people living near you, and then more to come after schedules come out, and obviously dishing some out of your own.

I tell you, networking is GREAT. Take advantage of it now, because sadly it doesn't happen that much during the school year, and even less after it's over (trust me...I've only touched the 2013 group a couple of times since May, and last summer I would talk to everyone about everything haha). Make sure you choose your friends now and choose them wisely, because your closest college friends are the ones that are gonna last. You'll be surprised at how little you may start talking to people from the elementary / middle / high school days. There are people that I spent four straight years talking to that I haven't heard from since graduation. So get out there and be confident! College is a fresh new start. Making friends will not be too hard - it's literally as simple as smiling at someone in your class and asking them how they're doing. = ]

I'm guilty of participating in all the groups! I've even joined the club and sorority ones Tong

I feel like it'll be awkward to actually meet the people I've been talking to via Facebook and Go Rutgers. Guess I'll find out in a week at Douglass!
