I've had an insanely busy week, what with my first classes and all! They're all awesome, but my favorite has to be Creative Writing. Being in that serene little conference room in the Writers' House, surrounded by other students who love to write and who actually think poetry is sexy (seriously) is so fulfilling. I never thought I would have the good fortune to meet so many other English nerds, who are intelligent and talented to boot! Going home for Labor Day weekend was hard; I felt really out of place in my hometown. I really didn't want to leave my dormmates, but since so many other people went home, I really didn't see much point in staying. Needless to say, last night was full of joyful reunions and much emotional eating. Other than that, my week has been full of rather pedestrian happenings: attending the frat party in the student center on Friday night, trying Brower dining hall food for the first time (not as good as Neilson. Sorry, College Ave. kids), incessant impromptu dance parties in the hallway, and pointing out the condoms in the vending machines to my flustered but amused parents. It's all in a day's work.
