Happy New Year Everyone!!!
I had an incredible 2010--between mailing in my last college applications and ending my first semester of college. No idea how 2011 will top this past year, but every year is always full of surprises!

During the last week I was at school, I got to catch up with my friends in Jameson, bake cookies, swipe my heart's content at the DCC/CCC, and go to New York City on $13 (w00t buy them at the S.A.C. on College Ave).

Can you spy the tribute to Moby Dick?

Since bus tickets to NYC were only $13, rush tickets were worth getting for an amazing show (and I still had some money left over for that awesome penguin on my head)!

I stayed up until 8:30 this morning watching one of my favorite movies, Juno! As Juno was driving home from the Lorings' one night, she says to herself, "I never realize how much I like being home unless I've been somewhere really different for a while." That line pretty much sums up how I have felt since I came home from Rutgers on December 23rd. My Little Suburbia is certainly not New Brunswick, with all its restaurants, parties, and what I lovingly generalize as Crazy, Busy College Life. I normally hate not having something to do constantly. I thrive on being really involved in all my activities (translate: ALWAYS being swamped but truly enjoying myself) and love the adrenaline rush of deadlines, but this past week or so has been really pleasant without any real work to do. Of course, that epic snowstorm kept me inside my house for three days, but I didn't mind the "forced family bonding" that occured over homecooked meals (I love you Neilson, I really do but Mama and Papa do it better!) and boring TV shows. Something I was terrified of when my friends and I split up this past summer for college was that we wouldn't be able to connect as well as we used to, since we'd start our new lives away from each other. Fortunately, the people I called my best and closest friends are still there for me and the times I've hung out with them this break felt like no time passed between us. Even when none of this is physically with me, I always carry the home I've built in my family and in my friends.
This break from some insane Rutgerstimez has been so good for me.
