Photoblog V. 2

Now, to visually sum up my Rutgers adventures since the summer, since you can never start an adventure too early:

Douglass Summer Orientation - Session Two!

I knew way before the Douglass Summer Orientation that I had made the right choice in joining the DRC!

Rutgers Leadership Quest - Session Two

Attending Leadership Quest set the bar for what I wanted out of my four years in college. In four short days, I become more well-spoken, professional, and resourceful. The program was a challenge to complete (especially in the middle of a hot summer after graduating high school!) but totally worth it because of the networking we did and all the fun we had. This is also my way of telling all of you seniors to apply!!! One of the best experiences I've ever had, hands down. This picture is in the University planner for this year too :D

Talk about pressure--my first college presentation was on a stage AND in front of really respected and well-known people--I won't wreck the surprise for anyone who is thinking about applying, but it was definitely a confidence-building experience.

My presentation group was so kickass.
We all attend different schools at Rutgers which worked to our advantage when we had to do our final project.
By the way, that map had Cook/Douglass circled on it and was there to tease me over loving Douglass so much, hahahahaha.

Being a Smart Summer Shopper

Utilize your local wholesale store (Costo<33333) while you can!
I'm pretty much still stocked up on dorm food/needs until the end of the Spring semester!

Free Admission

The Zimmerli gave me a new space to be creative in. Free for Rutgers students!

Football Fridays

Football games are really fun when you have good company.
I don't quite understand football yet, but I had fun learning all the chants and being surrounded by Scarlet Pride.

The Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival

Yes, I got to go on another free trip courtesy of the Rutgers English department!
The Dodge Poetry Festival happens every two years and the 2010 festival was my third one. I will be reading there one day!!!

The Four Nights of Halloween
(Although I only went out for two :P)

Being the lovely English major that I am, I was inspired to dress up with my love, Rob, as none other than... Romeo and Juliet <3
(Thanks Jenn H. for the nicely-taken-by-SLR photo :D)
Halloween at Rutgers was so full of life. Among other interesting characters, I met a jellyfish, (TOO) MANY Teletubbies, and the Flinstones.

Our pumpkin had love for you, before Rob tried to turn it into soup.
:]

Sisters are Forever Friends

Me and three of my Intelligent, Strong, and Beautiful sisters of Iota Sigma Beta <3

Room Decor

A plant on my windowsill! It's a snowman with grass hair! Who would have known... :D :D :D

One thing I missed the most from home...

Really good tiramisu from coffeeshops. I had some from Nuebies on Easton Ave., but it was disappointing!

The Last Ode to Moby Dick

Huge. Sperm. Whale.
Hanging. From. Ceiling.
Captain Ahab would have been so proud to see this.
I will proudly say I earned my A in my Early American Lit class, possibly because I internalized everything I read so deeply that Moby Dick swam his way into so many of my blogs ;]
This was another free trip to the Museum of Natural History in NYC with the Honors Program.
Free things are everywhere if you look for them!!! Perfect if you're a poor, jobless college kid like I am, wompwomp.

Hope you enjoyed the visual documentation of my Rutgers life thus far!

Thanks for the shoutout!

If you take avantage of opportunities, there's so much at Rutgers, and I think you learned that.
