Scary doesn't look like a word anymore.

Hey kids!  I apologize for my long absence, but this time I had a good excuse: I was deathly ill.  DEATHLY, I TELL YOU.  I had to leave school in mid-December and miss all my finals.  Luckily, my professors were very understanding and helpful, and none of them told me to suck it up and deal because they have eighteen kids at home and if I want to know sick I should try teaching a bunch of wimpy self-entitled English majors at a giant state university in the middle of winter with a fever of 105.  No, none of them said anything like that, and I am eternally grateful that they were so accommodating.

I spent the last two days in a frenzy of giggles with my dormmates, all of whom I missed terribly.  I've had very little sleep, but very great amounts of fun, so it's all worth it.  I can sleep when I'm 30 and my social life is over.

Life is exciting.  I just had my first class of the new semester, Principals of Lit. Study with Professor Dowling.  He's old and scary, and since he doesn't use the Internet I can totally say that.  Seriously, though, when he walked in the room, the class went from chattering like the exuberant ne'er-do-wells we are to SILENT AS THE GRAVE.  It was scary.  Like Professor Dowling.  However, we only had 10 minutes of class, where he told us to throw furniture if the bookstore refused to give us our books on time, and then he dismissed us.  So...that was a plus.  Also, he told me and a few other students that we had to come early and sit in the front row of class next time.  I AM SCARED OF WHAT THIS MEANS.

I should mention that my Lit. Study class has many students who were in my English Literature FIGS, a class where Professor Dowling came to speak and basically forced us to take his class this semester.  This is why I was so scared of him--because I had already heard and seen how tough the class was going to be.  So don't think I'm some kind of patsy; all my fellows FIGS classmates were just as terrified.  LITERARY STUDY IS SERIOUS BUSINESS, OK?!

In about an hour I'll be heading off to my next class, Western Masterworks.  I'm not nervous about that class at all, because it's not taught by Professor Dowling and so I actually have a chance of getting an A in it.  Wish me luck!

G'luck.  Since it was all so scary, we'll forgive the incorrect "all of who." It should be "all of whom."  You'll nee that to survive Principles of Lit Study Wink and welcome back.  Truly glad you're well again.
