Heyy Guys!!
If you live in Jersey then you all know how Bi-polar February has been. Just last weekend we had 63 degree weather and the DAY AFTER, ther was snow on the ground!!! This had the whole campus(and their respective wardrobes) in a state of shock. That ONE day of warm weather brought out the best in people. It was like the Capus population had grown over winter break. Since the BEGINNING of the school year, I had not seen this many people on campus. There were People eating outside, dancing outside, and my personal favorite, walking from class to class. On a day like that, There was no excuse to take the bus to your class around the corner. Personally, My friends and I decided to make the absolute most of that wonderful day. After my friday morning Lab, my friend Sam and Sarah from Katzenbach decided to skip our weekly gym date and excahnge it for a form of exercise that would take advantage of the weather. We decided to walk ALLLLL the way around Cook/Douglass! while at first I questioned the distance of the trek, but as we got out there and waking, it proved to be a WONDERFUL experience. On our walk we saw the eccentric Mason Gross Students dancing to a bongo players' drum, the actors rehersing in the warming sun, and the choir singing infron of Voorhees. As we continued up toward Jameson, We witnessed the Campus Mounted Police(horses!). Even the horses looked like they were relisihing the weather. Finally as we entered cook, we climbed the trees and laughed at our inability to get down. It was Great! Not only did we get in our exercise, but we had a great time exploring the places we miss at the mercy of the puntuality of the buses. I WISH I HAD MY CAMERA!!!!
I was so upset that I didnt have my camera, That I resolved to now bring it with me (in its case of course) everywhere I go from now on.
Other than the great weather, the 2nd best part of February was MY BIRTHDAYY! As of February 17th 2011, Your favorite blogger Melissa was officially 19. While you can't to many things at 19 that you cant at 18, its still worth celebrating. Celebrating a birthday at college was so much different than while i was in high school. On my birthday itself (a thursday) I had to go to all my classes and work so there really wasnt a celebration of sorts. But, and that's a BIG BUT, on the weekend, I was determined to celebrate. On friday, after our excursions, we went out on College Ave. For the first time, the weather was a couple notches above bone-chilling and everyone on campus knew about it. The busses were cramed to capacity with people looking for a good time. while others had caught their uh...*cough-cough*buzz*cough-cough* in their dorms, others (like myself) was ready to get out ASAP. As soon as we got to college ave, We found a GREAT party and danced till the AM. We had a BANGIN time that I doubt will repeat itself till the weather breaks again. (ahhh memories) Luckily this time I had my Camera lol so check out the pic below. All It all it was A GREAT BIRTHDAY.
Love,
Melissa
