Pray for the People of Japan

by Nagma K. 11. March 2011 05:07

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan. It’s just scary how devastating nature’s wrath can be. For the past hour, I have been watching videos, news reports and trying to keep up with the things that are going on. Honestly, it is just scary. Really really scary. There are videos of entire cities being washed away by the Tsunami that hit just half an hour ago:

Here’s some detailed news through an online blogger:

There are highways OVERTURNED, apparently a graduation ceremony’s roof caved in, people rushing to the top of secure buildings, trains stopped, power outages, NUCLEAR emergency and so much more:

In fact, pertaining to the latter, one of the nuclear plants is not functioning properly due to the earthquake and Japan has had to declare a nuclear emergency. This is not something that is just affecting Japan, its affecting the rest of the world too. There are Tsunami warnings for Russia, Marcus Island, Northern Marianas, Guam, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, and Hawaii to name a few.

I’ve even seen a lot of people saying things like:

Dear Earthquakes, Floods, Taunami & Hurricanes... It's isn't 2012 yet, check your calendar first. Sincerely Human.

Its just crazy. Honestly, I thought my next blog post was going to be about some event I went to last week about cyber theft, and now every problem in my life just seems inconsequential. There are people who’s lives are in danger, we need to help them, we need to help them now. There has to be a way. Maybe some sort of charitable event that can be created quickly? Because, before you know it, they are going to require some sort of aid. And if we don’t figure out how to start sending them the aid as early as possible, it might be too late for many people. The devastation is of epic proportions.

For now, all we can do is pray. “Even if you don’t believe in anything, keep them in your thoughts”.
