Hello All,

I saw your video. Its very good.I have been offered admission in the MQF course for fall 2011.I read the post "Where to live your first year". I have a lot of questions to ask actually. Smile. Firstly I would like to know in which campus is the MQF course held. Secondly I would like to know whether the dorms are for the graduate programs also. And lastly I would like to know if there is a dress code,i.e.business suits, for the Graduate programs. Thank you.

Hi Ayush,

I have to be honest - I don't know a think about the MQF program but congrats on getting into the business school! Thats a great accomplishment.

This is the website that I found that might be better able to answer some of your questions (or perhaps another blogger is more qualified than I)

I am pretty sure that the graduate students live in the apartments - your apartment may be next to an undergraduate's apartment but I doubt that you will be housed with undergraduates.

Hey Dawn!

I just accepted Rutger's offer of admission for the 2011-2012 school year.  I am a transfer student, and I am excited to come back to NJ!   One of the things I'm nervous about is finding my niche.  In this video you talk a lot about the Douglas campus and the wonderful community it provided.  I will not be living on the Douglas campus, and I'm nervous that I will feel "lost" at such a big university.  How did you get involved in so many things?
I have such mixed emotions!  I'm so excited to go to Rutgers, because I love the sense of school pride that the students have.  I did not like my first year of college, and I'm jealous of all the students who love their school so much that they don't want to go home!  Yet, at the same time I'm nervous- now I have to have ANOTHER freshman year.
Lately I have been reading the students blogs, and I wanted to say thanks because they helped me with my decision, and they're helping me feel secure about it!

Hi Chelsea,

Thanks for your message and for reading!
First off, I promise, there is a niche for EVERYONE here. I happened to find it both at Douglass and in my sorority. I kind of came into college knowing that I wanted to surround myself with really strong and inspiring women because I only had a handful of close girl friends growing up, hence wanting to go to a women's college. I knew that I wanted to continue writing and dancing, so I got involved with The Rutgers Review and the Rutgers Performing Dance Company (and of course this blog! Apply!). I would say definitely keep in mind what your passions are, and know that whatever they are someone is going to be standing right by you. There is a club for EVERYTHING and if there somehow isn't one, start one! And there are tons of opportunities here. So many. You just have to really be proactive and look for them and apply asap even if you aren't sure of being accepted etc. Taking risks like that really defined my first year of college.

I do always talk about Douglass because my involvement has been so great there and it gave me so much when I felt really terrible my first month at Rutgers. The adjustment was rough but the community really held me up until I felt better. Are you living on campus or commuting? There are other learning communities at Rutgers that are not on Douglass and are definitely worth checking out. Let me know if you have other questions! So glad to have you at this great university soon!!!

Hi Chelsea,

As I transfer student myself I totally understand why you are worried. I was really nervous about coming to such a large school especially because I felt lost at my previous school which was about a quarter of the size of Rutgers. That being said, I found it easier to find my niche at Rutgers than at my previous school. The size of Rutgers allows for a huge number of opportunities and if/when you take advantage of them it's hard to not find a niche. Plus, as a transfer student you already know what college life is like (although I don't think there is anything quite like Rutgers) so you already have an idea of what kind of student you are and what you need to make yourself happy.

Trust me when I tell you that I never wanted to come to Rutgers, but now that I am here I can not imagine myself anywhere else. I absolutely love my time here and can not wait to see what opportunities unveil themselves in my remaining two years.

Please don't hesitate to ask me any more questions about being a transfer student at Rutgers (I can figure out some way to privately send you my email if you'd like).

Most importantly, Welcome to Rutgers!

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me whether there is some group for the incoming students of the fall semester ? Or if there is some group where I can contact the class of 2012 of MQF program so that I can ask them my doubts.
