Well, right now I'm technically on a medical leave from school. Heaven help me, 2 weeks before the semester is over and I end up with a medical emergency that landed me in the hospital. Never fear, I've been home for over a week now and am on the mend. It was just rather unexpected.
My friend and I have determined that the Biology lab practical is evil. Last semester our friend died the day after she took hers, and I wound up in the hospital the evening after I took mine this semester. While we both know there really is no correlation, it doesn't really do anything but stregthen our dislike of Gen Bio. Oh well, you aren't going to enjoy every single class you take.
So, I get a bit of extra time to study for exams. The past couple of weeks have been eaten up by recovery (a majority of it napping between doses of pain medication), but I shall be starting studying in all seriousness this week.
While I haven't been able to make it to class, I was able to make it to Sacred Path, a lovely tradtion of Douglass College that is being continued by the DRC. I'm sure one of the other ladies who attended will be better able to describe it (maybe Dawn, who was the First Year speaker), but I will say it was a lovely ceremony and really does make me want to be more involved.
Now that I won't be going to Scotland next year, I think I will see about being more involved. It is difficult from my perspective, being married and living 45 minutes away, but I'm sure I can make it work. I know that I'm interested in being a Voorhees Mentor, and a Bunting peer mentor. It feels good to look forward to the future right now.
