With this semester's grades finally documented, it is time to bid farewell to being a Rutgers' Student Blogger.
I had an absolutely wonderful year and am so happy that I got to share it with all of you. Thank you for taking the time to read about my trials and tribulations. I hope that my antics helped to make your college decision easier and of course, that you chose Rutgers University.
I think that I've said this a few time already but I really do beleive that Rutgers is a school for everyone. There are so many opportunities to explore and when you do explore them you find even more paths and alley ways to venture down.
Here are my last bits of advice for the year:
- Study. I don't care if you were a staight A student in high school, every one I know was a straight A student in high school, college is different and if you don't learn to study and put effort into your work, you will get bad grades.
- Explore your Surroundings. Don't stay stuck to your campus. If you live on Cook (my personal favorite) don't limit yourself to the programs that Cook offers.
- Explore Yourself. Just because you are a biology major does not mean you can't take an art class and just because you are an art major does not mean that you can't explore sciene. Try to take one class a semester that has absolutely nothing to do with your major.
- Try New Things. Take advantage of the diversity Rutgers offers and make friends with different interests than yours, then see if you can get interested in their interests.
- Enjoy your time. As a sophomore (now Junior, gah!), I can tell you that college flys by, make every day an adventure and enjoy it.
- Finally, if you get overwhelmed, and it is absolutely normal to, don't be afraid to call home and speak to people who love you. Chances are, they've been in your shoes and know how to fix the situation.
Good luck everyone! Have fun at prom, graduation and eventually your first day, week and semester at college! You'll all be just fine
