FIRST POST YEAH YEAH!

by Emily G 2. October 2011 21:41

Hi! I'm Emily Gill and this is my first post as an official RU blogger, yay! :) With this being my first post, there are so many things to talk about! Everyone (as in my parents) told me that the first semester of freshmen year was going to be a big deal, but I didn't really believe them. Before getting here, I thought "Whatever, I'm living in a different room than I used to. Big whoop." Little did I know, college life is a lot to get used to. Take weeknights for example: At home, I would go to bed around 9:30 on a good night - don't judge, I need my beauty rest. In college, 9:30 is when things just start to get going. Around that time, I do my homework, watch movies, eat dinner, blah blah blah. The point is, I now go to bed closer to 1:30 or 2 on a good night. I thought that was bad until I heard my friends telling me they were going to bed at 7 in the morning...expository writing will do that to you.

So far, I really love love love Rutgers. The adjustment in the beginning was hard because I had to get into the flow of things and I didn't really know too many people, but now I have 0 complaints. Well, actually I do have one complaint. I live in the Towers on Livingston and the fire alarms go off at least once a week. I don't understand why people feel the need to pull the fire alarms at 3 in the morning or play with the fire extinguisher. Really? Multiple times so far I've woken up either really late at night or early in the morning because of the faulty fire system or someone being stupid (boo hoo).

I'm so excited to be blogging this year! Thanks for reading :)

Hello! Glad you're adjusting well to the RU atmosphere. Btw, I went to visit a friend the other day at B.E.S.T hall and it looks like a hotel... i'm so jealous!
