I guess I could describe how my first month as a Rutgers Student was like. It was amazing, and I love it here :) I live on Busch campus at B.E.S.T hall, which stands for Busch Engineering and Sciences and Techology. Or something of that sort. It's a brand new building, so I LOVE IT. Each year our building focuses on a theme, so this year was based on the Gulf Oil Spill. We had a reporter from USA Today give a talk about her thoughts about the Oil Spill, and we had 'New Orleans' food. Food is always a good incentive to attend things, something I've learned while being here, eheheh.
I am proud to say that I no longer get completely lost now. I highly recommend that the day before classes start, go exploring with your friends. And bring a map. Find where your classes are, figure out what buses to take. AND WRITE IT DOWN SO YOU DON'T FORGET IT THE NEXT DAY. I learned that the hard way :/ I actually ended up 5 minutes late to one of my Calculus lectures because I got lost in the building. Its not completely my fault, I blame the hallways, they all look the same. I actually entered through the back of the building because I thought it would be quicker. Nope. Never again.
There are an unbelievably huge amount of clubs and organizations here. I signed up for about a dozen things, but I'm currently in the process of filtering the clubs that I think are interesting. But yeah, there is a club for just about everything. One club that caught my eye was the SEPRC, the seeing eye puppy rasing club. And yes, they raise puppies. And yes, they are adorable. A reason to apply to Rutgers? Perhaps.
Even though Rutgers is a big school, I still feel a sense of community around here. I see familiar faces everyday, and once you get to know them, the school feels small. And there's always the plus that you meet interesting people everyday. Everyday. I don't know, everyone is just so nice here.
But yeah, hi guys, I'm really excited about being a Rutgers Blogger :) I guess you'll hear from me soon, I promise. Make that a pinky promise. Yes, a virtual one. Consider it done.
