A (mostly) White Halloweekend

by Richard W 1. November 2011 17:30

Yay! Fun stuff!  Now with 600% more pictures! Rewind all the way to a week or so before homecoming:  The wonderful Livingston campus community held a Homecoming-themed window-decorating competition, and our floor, (8th floor North Tower), gave it a bit of a Halloween touch:

Sadly, though we were the winners of North Tower, we lost to the less artistic but more homecoming-themed 6th floor of South Tower.  Boo. We did decorate our message board, though, and it's pretty cool.

the poem is "The Red Death", btw

Fast forward to the homecoming game against Navy, which we surprisingly won!  Things weren’t looking too good for a while, but somehow we managed it to pull it off!  The energy of the crowd was amazing, especially when we blocked a field goal attempt to clinch our victory.  The student section has an amazing view:

9th row seats ftw!

And you may often spot interesting things at the game, as well:

what is this i don't even

Fast forward again to Halloween weekend, or Halloweekend, if you will: Saturday morning, I was awoken by the excitement of my floormates about snow!  Personally, I wasn’t expecting actual snow, but I was pleasantly surprised, but also caught off-guard.

snow!

Of course, Saturday was the football game against West Virginia, and being the troopers that we were, me and some of my floormates decided to trek out and see the game.  It did not go well, as by the time we got to the stadium, our shoes were thoroughly soaked, and the wind and snow were blowing into our faces.  We decided to leave after the first quarter for the warmth of our dorm, and watch the game on TV, instead.  We also then made the very sensible decision to not trek to the dining hall for food, but to order delivery from Yummy Yummy instead:

Moo Goo Gai Pan!

That night, we watched the Grudge 2 in our lounge, and had fun scaring each other.  We had seen the Grudge a few days earlier, but compared to that, the Grudge 2 was just plain hilarious.  It didn’t make much sense, and there was this one scene where a possessed girl drinks a pint of milk, and then regurgitated it back in… only to drink it again.  This prompted us to fall into hysterics, and make jokes such as “INFINITE MILK”.

We then spent the night of Halloween eating candy and telling stories, which then divulged into a lively discussion about ghosts and hauntings and whether they could be supported scientifically until 3 am.  All in all, it was a pretty good Halloweekend.
