Hi Everyone!
I know you are all looking forward to rushing home for turkey, and family, and a few precious days off before the craziness of end-of-semester/cramming for finals. So am I!
But my friend Lindsey reminded me that not everyone is as lucky as we are, in fact, some people don't even have a home, much less a turkey to cook. Lindsey, being a much better (and less overextended) person than I am has volunteered her time and effort toward an organization right here in New Brunswick called Women Aware. This organization assists abused and battered women and their children to escape their abusers and regroup. They offer a host of services, but like so many of these organizations, they need a hand. Please consider purchasing any of the items listed below and dropping them at College Hall (George Street next to Voorhees Chapel) in room 101. Grab something to donate from your parents house on your way out the door!
Lindsey has two weeks to reach her goal of $2,000.00, so if every person reading this donated between 2 and 5 bucks, she could actually get there. It's not a lot for us to share our good fortune with people who will never have the futures we are assured of once we leave Rutgers, but it will mean the world to them. And it's a nice way to set the tone for this holiday season.
Oh, and don't forget Yule Log is only a couple short weeks away, Voorhees Chapel Sunday December 11 at 4:45 sharp!
So that's all the preaching I've got for today folks, please, if you can, give something this season. And have a safe and happy Turkey Day!!!!
