Need help navigating the campus or the curriculum? Every first-year pharmacy student is matched to an upper-class pharmacy student who's "been there, done that" at Rutgers.

Pharmacy
Make a difference in human health

Launch your pharmacy career at one of the most selective pharmacy schools in the nation. Rutgers’ pharmacy program—the only one in New Jersey—attracts students from around the world. Part of the draw? The chance to study pharmacy in the international epicenter of the pharmaceutical industry: New Jersey has one of the nation’s top 5 biotechnology clusters and hosts 75% of the world’s pharmaceutical companies.

You’ll join a common-purpose community of 1,300 students working toward a six-year Pharm. D., the terminal degree in the field. Coursework is challenging. Training is laboratory based. And the faculty is internationally recognized for research and expertise. The program’s highlight: a full year of professional placements in pharmacies, hospitals, research labs, and corporate settings.

What makes a Rutgers pharmacy degree so valuable?
  • Our pass rate on the pharmacist licensure exam averages 94.38% during the past five years.
  • Other high-demand careers—pharmaceutical executive, biomedical researcher, health care manager, and more—are open to pharmacy graduates.
  • Pharmacy degrees are an impressive credential for graduate and professional schools in law and medicine.
