Honors Programs
Take it up a notch.

Got good grades and made your high school’s honor roll? Excellent! The honors program at Rutgers challenges top students to become independent scholars. When you accept an invitation to join Rutgers’ honors community, you commit to an academic program that mirrors graduate-level study.

Rutgers’ honors scholars push themselves intellectually, through:
  • small-group honors courses and seminars taught by leading Rutgers professors
  • opportunities to conduct original research and senior-year capstone projects
  • trips, film screenings, museum exhibits, plays and other cultural events
  • honors-only academic advising, faculty mentoring, residence-life options, and other special services
Each of Rutgers’ undergraduate schools and colleges has its own honors program, with specific eligibility criteria and completion requirements. All of them share the same payoff: an intellectual edge in landing top jobs and coveted slots at the best graduate and professional schools.
