Rutgers is one of the most culturally diverse universities in the United States and is located in an area that is home to a wide variety of cultures. Applications from academically qualified international students are welcome.

Who is an International Student?
You are an international student if:
  • You are currently studying in the United States on a student visa (F-1 or J-1) in high school, college, or an English language program
  • You intend to enter the United States with a student (F-1 or J-1) visa

When to Apply
All applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their application and all necessary credentials by the priority application date. Please note the following:
  • If we receive your complete application after the priority application date, your application will receive consideration only as long as space remains available.
  • I-20s will not be issued after December 15, 2008 for spring semester or after July 1, 2009 for fall semester for students living overseas. I-20s for students transferring from U.S. high schools, colleges, or universities will be issued after the arrival of their SEVIS release date.
