About Visual Arts (B.F.A.)
The Department of Art & Design sparks exploration across various art disciplines as well as deep study of one concentration area in drawing, media, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture. Students immerse themselves in an intensive studio art environment while also pursuing liberal arts studies within a nationally-ranked research university. Proximity to New York City and Philadelphia offers access to a faculty of renowned professionals, prestigious museums and galleries, as well as visiting artists and designers.
Creating and critical analysis go hand in hand at Mason Gross. All Art & Design students begin with Foundation Studio courses that familiarize students with core concepts and basic skills in preparation for a rigorous studio practice. The fourth year culminates with a BFA Thesis Exhibit in the Mason Gross Galleries at Civic Square.
To apply, applicants must submit the Mason Gross supplemental application and art portfolio.
