MengYao's Story

MengYao is fundraising chair for Community of Students Involved in Education (COSINE). She also serves as a tutor at the New Brunswick Public Library. She is a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon Honors Society and the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP). She also participates in the Office for Diversity and Academic Success in the Sciences (ODASIS). She serves as a peer mentor for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) EOF program. She says it is her way of reaching out to incoming freshman and helping them the same way she was helped and welcoming them into the SEBS EOF family. She also loves volunteering for events that can promote SEBS EOF and show others what SEBS EOF means to her. She has participated in the SOLID GEMS program offered by SEBS EOF. She has also participated in Fellow at American Needs You NJ. Her future career aspiration is to become a pediatrician.
