Rutgers University–Camden is dedicated to meeting the needs of students interested in Medical, Dental, Veterinary Medicine, and other health fields including Podiatric Medicine, Optometry, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Public Health.
Health Professions Advising
Students interested in Health Professions can register with the Health Professions Advisor
at the Career Center. Students who register are provided personal counseling support to assist them in meeting their career goals. They are encouraged to meet with an advisor each semester to keep them on track with their qualifications for their health care program of interest. With a small program on the Camden Campus, students receive individual attention in pursuit of their goal.
Students that strive to attend medical school can choose any major at Rutgers–Camden. For those that wish to have a strong foundation in STEM fields, you can major in:
Joint B.S./D.O. Program
Students can apply for our joint 7-year Bachelor of Science in Biology (B.S.) and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree program. The BS/DO joint degree program is offered in partnership with the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Students enrolled in the B.S./D.O. joint degree program will complete a B.S. in Biology in three years at Rutgers University–Camden and then apply for medical school at the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine.
