Once an application is completed, it cannot be reopened to add or make changes to a personal essay. When you submitted your online application to Rutgers, you certified that you had reviewed your responses and found them satisfactory and complete. We offered that review opportunity so that students could carefully consider their responses, and to ensure that all applicants are treated equitably. We cannot accept an essay submitted separately from the online application.
Activities and Experiences
To ensure that all applicants are treated equitably during the admissions process, we will only consider a student's activities if they are provided within the appropriate fields on our application. We cannot accept any information about activities or personal experiences submitted separately from the online application. Resumes will not be considered.
Students can indicate an area of interest when completing an application for undergraduate admission. Once a student is admitted to Rutgers, academic advisers are available if assistance is needed with declaring or deciding upon a major. The major students indicate on their application does not affect admissions consideration.
