If you are currently enrolled in a Rutgers undergraduate degree program (other than the School of Health Professions) and wish to transfer to another Rutgers undergraduate school, use the School-to-School Application.

All transfer applicants must use our Rutgers Application. The Common Application is specifically for fall, first-year students applying to Rutgers for the first time and seeking full-time degree study.
When applying to Rutgers University through the Common App, please add Rutgers to your My Colleges list. Once you have added Rutgers University, you will be prompted to answer questions for the desired fall term. Under the “Academics” section of the Rutgers Common App questions, you will be prompted to select the schools you wish to apply to. You may select schools from our different regional campuses: Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick. Please be sure all information is listed as desired before completing and submitting the application.
A non-refundable application fee or a fee waiver is required. Check your eligibility for a need-based fee waiver in your Common App profile section. If you meet the Common App fee waiver criteria, your application fee will be waived. To receive a Common App fee waiver, you must affirm at least one of the following indicators of economic need:
Congratulations on applying to Rutgers! If you applied through the Common App, and after Rutgers receives your submitted application, you will receive an email with instructions for creating your Rutgers CommunityID. Please do not attempt to create a CommunityID before receiving this email. Once you set up your CommunityID, you can log in to the Rutgers Application Portal to submit your required documents.
Congratulations on applying to Rutgers! If you applied through the Rutgers Application, your CommunityID has already been created. You can log into the Rutgers Application Portal to submit your required documents using the login credentials (email and password) used to create your Rutgers application.
Whether you submit your application through the Common App or the Rutgers Application, log in to the Rutgers Application Portal using your Rutgers CommunityID to check your application status. If you applied to Rutgers using the Common App, please wait until you receive our application confirmation and “next steps” email, as this includes specific CommunityID set-up instructions.
Yes. You must complete a Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) Record within one week of submitting your application. STARS allows applicants to self-report their courses, grades, GPAs, and other academic information. All applicants currently enrolled in high school are required to complete and submit a STARS Record. High school graduates do not complete a STARS Record.
