Terms & Conditions for First-Year and Transfer Students
Rutgers University–Camden school-based merit scholarships are awarded by the individual schools and colleges and granted to students who enroll in that specific school. If you are admitted to and awarded a school-based scholarship from more than one Rutgers–Camden school, you will only receive the scholarship from the school in which you choose to enroll, not both.
The following terms and conditions apply to all Rutgers–Camden school-based scholarships:
- To accept your offer of admission and thus your Rutgers–Camden school-based scholarship, go to your Rutgers Application Portal and indicate your intention to enroll in your school of choice. Once you accept your offer of admission, your scholarship will automatically be added to your financial aid package or credited to your account.
- You will receive the scholarship and award amount indicated in your scholarship offer letter from the school in which you choose to enroll each year that you are enrolled in that specific school for a total of four years as long as you meet the requirements of your academic program and the minimum GPA required for merit scholarships.
- If you receive any other Rutgers University scholarships that may be applied to the Camden campus, the value of that award will not be added to your Rutgers–Camden school-based merit scholarship. You will receive the scholarship with the higher amount, but not both.
- This award amount is based on your residency. If your residency status changes at any point during the time you are receiving your award, the scholarship amount will be adjusted to reflect the correct status.
- Your award amount is annual, divided between fall and spring semesters. Awards may not be applied to winter and summer courses.
- Scholarships do not apply to online or second degree students.
- Financial assistance from all sources, including scholarships, cannot exceed the cost of attendance.
- Rutgers University reserves the right to modify and/or withdraw your merit scholarship if the credentials or conditions upon which the award was granted do not accurately and completely represent you and your scholastic record. In order to help students maximize their institutional aid, merit scholarships are awarded prior to federal grants, state grants, and/or institutional grants.
Terms & Conditions for the Camden Commitment Grant
- The award is renewable for a total of four years as long as you meet the requirements of your academic program while maintaining a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and full-time enrollment.
- The award amount is annual, divided between fall and spring semesters. Awards may not be applied to winter and summer courses.
- The Camden Commitment Grant is only awarded to non-NJ residents that are being charged out-of-state tuition. If your residency status changes to in-state at any point during the time you are receiving your award or you qualify for a tuition exemption, the award amount will be removed from your financial aid offer. Please notify the Office of Financial Aid as soon as possible.
- Students that qualify for tuition remission or any veteran benefit that covers your tuition are not eligible for the Camden Commitment Grant. Please notify the Office of Financial Aid if this applies to you.
- This Camden Commitment Grant is only applicable for enrollment to the Rutgers-Camden campus and may not be transferred to another Rutgers campus or affiliated entities.
- Students in fully online programs and students receiving a second degree are not eligible for the Camden Commitment Grant.
