Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, dual admission is not open to all Rutgers–New Brunswick schools. The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Mason Gross School of the arts, and School of Nursing are excluded from dual admission.

  • Yes! You must successfully complete your Associate’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8. In addition, any student that matriculates at Rutgers–New Brunswick within four years of their original enrollment at Middlesex College will be guaranteed admission to Rutgers–New Brunswick and subject to the specific degree requirements for the applicable Rutgers–New Brunswick program. If more than four years have passed between the date of enrollment at Middlesex College and the date of matriculation at Rutgers–New Brunswick, the student will need to submit a new application as a transfer student.

  • All program specific requirements and eligibility can be found on njtransfer.org. In addition, you will be jointly advised by Rutgers–New Brunswick and Middlesex College to ensure completion of the correct prerequisite courses.

  • All financial aid will be processed and provided by Middlesex College during the period of enrollment at Middlesex. Once you are enrolled at Rutgers–New Brunswick you will receive financial aid information from our institution.   • Dual admission indicates that you start your collegiate career at Middlesex College with access to their resources and programs. Prior to the completion of your Associate’s degree, you will be jointly advised by Rutgers–New Brunswick and Middlesex to ensure a smooth transition. Upon successful matriculation at Rutgers–New Brunswick, you will have access to our resources, programs, and housing (if you choose to live on campus).

  • No. If you were previously matriculated at Rutgers–New Brunswick, part or full-time, you are ineligible for dual admission.
