At Rutgers University in Camden, we believe that a world-class education should be accessible, affordable, and achievable for all. The One Tuition Grant, also known as One Rate, is a financial award for domestic, non–New Jersey residents enrolling in on-campus undergraduate programs at Rutgers University–Camden.
This grant reduces tuition, allowing eligible students to pay the same rate as New Jersey residents.

To be eligible, students must:
✅ Be a U.S. domestic student (including Washington DC, Puerto Rico and US territories)
✅ Be classified as a non–New Jersey resident
✅ Be admitted to at least one Rutgers–Camden school (CCAS, School of Business–Camden, School of Nursing–Camden, or University College–Camden)
✅ Be enrolled in an on-campus undergraduate program ✅ Be enrolled full-time each semester (minimum of 12 credits) -
❌ Students who become New Jersey residents at any point
❌ Online degree students
❌ Students pursuing a second bachelor’s degree
❌ Students enrolled at Rutgers–New Brunswick, Rutgers–Newark, or RBHS (including if they transfer internally later) ❌ International Students -
No. There is no separate application. Eligible admitted students to a Rutgers–Camden school are automatically awarded the grant.

The One Tuition Grant also covers the District of Columbia (DC).

No. This grant can be used only at Rutgers University–Camden and does not transfer to:
- Rutgers–New Brunswick
- Rutgers–Newark
- Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences (RBHS)

If you are reclassified as a New Jersey resident, you are no longer eligible for the One Tuition Grant. If you are a dependent and your parent(s)/legal guardian(s) obtain NJ residency, you will no longer receive the One Tuition Grant.
Students are responsible for notifying the Office of Financial Aid immediately if their residency status changes. Early reporting helps avoid situations where funding must be removed later in the semester.

Yes, your bill will reflect out-of-state tuition. The One Tuition Grant will be applied to your financial aid offer and term bill to reduce the cost to the in-state rate.

Yes. The grant amount varies by school of enrollment because each Rutgers–Camden school has slightly different tuition rates.

No. Room, board, and other fees are not covered by this grant.

Yes. Eligible students may still be awarded merit-based scholarships by Rutgers–Camden.

Yes. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and remain in good academic standing within their school.
If a student is academically dismissed, they may not remain eligible to receive the grant—even if they re-enroll later.

Financial aid awards will begin to be released in February/March 2026. The One Tuition Grant will be included in your financial aid package if you meet the qualification criteria.

The Camden Commitment Grant was a Rutgers University–Camden financial award provided to eligible out-of-state domestic undergraduate students to reduce tuition to the in-state rate.
Beginning in Fall 2026, the Camden Commitment Grant has been renamed as the One Tuition Grant (also referred to as One Rate).
